Finishing of some projects

I have some new projects that I have finished and boy do they make me want to get the boat out on the lake for some sea trials.
First project and a really important one is our decks. Freshly painted in white with sand painted into it for non-skid.

Here I have taped off the tops of the crossbeams where the non skid will go.

While the paint is still wet I sprinkle on some sand I got during our travels in Costa Rica. The final coat of paint will be rolled on tomorrow after everything dries. I have to put on a couple of coats because the sand is very gritty but the more paint the better.

The second project is our Boom. Our last boom was the Wishbone boom (this was a boom that wrapped around the mast and the sail) . I liked the wishbone style and the way it looked but never really got used to it. I probably wasn't using it right, but I always had trouble reefing the sail. I always ended up having to climb out and tying the reefing lines which in high seas isn't really a good idea ......needless to say our new boom is done.

And now for lunch
I have been working on my pizza recipe
for awhile and have been practicing trying to cook
it without out an oven in a pan.
and with great success I may add here is our
a meat lovers pizza cooked in the pan.

oh and here I am 45 days without shaving. Its starting to itch. May have to cut it soon so it doesn't drive me crazy. Don't worry mom its going to be cut for work sooner or later lol

Hope everyone is well and in good spirits... keep smiling

My friend Fitz

Fitzie coco,

It's hard to put to words how you feel after you have just buried a dog. Most people never experience it. I have never actually burried a dog in my 40 years. Most people that know me, and if you dont know me, now you know, that I think I love dogs more than I do most people.  So, its a sad day here on the Woodduck because our friend Fitz passed away last night.
We are not even sure why. He wasn't even 2 years old.  If you look at the last blog entry he was the big lap dog in the hammock with me.  He was just a good-natured dude.  Super friendly and he just liked hanging out with you.  When he would see you he would just wag his little tail as fast as he could.
So here is to Fitz......Adios mi amigo

Him lounging around in the morning

just hanging out at the dock trying to find someone to hang out with

What was that???

and up close and personal again
