boat life

Boat life,

Interesting thing this boat life. When we first moved on the boat, in san francisco, everthing was new and different. As we travel south and lived on the boat for most of the year, the new and different became the norm. Our last shift in the boat life is 4 to 5 months on and 6 to 7 monts off. This shift has made the differences stick out again.
For example,
Our driveway is a plank. ( carefull everything is moving)

our car becomes our digny.
The lounge chair everyone loves is our hamock.

In this one I have to share with  Fitz which thinks he is a lap dog but about 30 pounds over that limit

now we have a fridge but no freezer so no Ice. Thats ok because we can always make do. For example in the picture below, something stung my toe , oh, no ice thats ok just use a cold beer.

Anyways just a few thoughts i was thinking about.
I hope everyone is doing ok. stay warm and keep smiling

Just another work day on the boat....

For a guy that likes projects, which I am , this is heaven.
I love sailing my cat , but I think I also like, if not as much, working on
and tweeking out my boat.
I just finished our new deck......the last one didn't make the cut. Too hot in the sun (the wood turned a dark black after oiling it and sitting in the sun for awhile)
and the little problem of part of it falling in the ocean while we were sailing last year.

Right now Im working on a couple projects at a time.
The new boom is getting fiberglassed. In the old design we had a wishbone design. This boom wrapped around the mast. It looks like a windsurfer sail. The new one is a box design.

There is a new helper on the property

His name is fitz. He isn't doing much work

but he is fun to have around. He does scare some of the Locals. The trash guys
didn't come for a couple of weeks because they were scared of him. Lol, and all he wants is some scratches

In an ideal world, we would hope to get the boat out and sail around the lakes this year and maybe even
get out to the ocean for a little fishing. But, I'm not holding my breath.

Here is where we hung the hammocks for afternoon breaks from work.
this usually is done with a beer.

seeya all soon

Here is something I found interesting, a fiberglass propane tanks. never saw one before and since our last one rusted out we got this fine looking one.

oh and here is an unshaven pre-coffee jake...coooffeeeeeeeeee.

Its nice not having to shave to go to work.
