03/09/2005 - Huatulco, Mexico
We left Zihuatanejo on Sunday and arrived here in Huatulco on Tuesday afternoon. The trip was great, the weather was beautiful, average 10 knots of wind, the boat held up well, only one item needs to be repaired, nothing major, all part of breaking the boat in. Jake caught three fish!! The first night we had a fish barbecue. I´ll post pictures soon. It took us 53 hours and we traveled 340 nautical miles. We plan on staying here a week or two, just long enough to finish some projects on the boat, re-fuel and prepare for the next leg of the trip. The next leg will be 500 miles long and will take us out of Mexico. We will land at Marina San Barillas in El Salvador. The marina we are currently at is Marina Chahué in Huatulco. We will wait here for the next weather window to cross the Gulf of Tehuantepec. More later. Take care everybody!

Hi Jake & Cathy,
If you two get any darker..... I envy you both:) You both look great! I'm glad that everything is going well for you both!
Adventure Cat is getting a pretty good running start at the new season. Well, except that it's raining today, but we're still going out with a fairly good group! Me? "my mama didn't raise no fool" LOL I'm in my nice warm office. You both take care & have a safe trip to El Salvador! We miss you both.
Jake & Cathy - Steve Learman stopped by my office and we checked out your latest postings and pictures, all of which gave us big smiles. Wow. We're very happy for you guys.
Ema will be going to Law School in the Fall and I'm already thinking about how we can take 6 months off to do what you're doing once she graduates in 3 years! If I didn't mention it before, Ema and I are getting married this July 16th! We too plan on sailing away, but only for a couple of weeks, probalby up into the North Channel.
Keep living the dream and keeping us all posted to confirm that such things are indeed possible.
